Vehicle Crashes Into Stream

Mon 11-23-2015

(Primghar)-- An Algona woman escaped serious injury Saturday after losing control of a vehicle on a snow and ice-covered road. The vehicle slid off the road, collided with a sign post, then went into a ditch where it collided with a culvert and flipped onto its side, coming to rest in a stream.

The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office says 57-year-old Marilyn Bernardo was westbound on the county road, which deputies say hadn't been plowed yet from the snowstorm the night before.

$8,000 in damage was estimated to a 2005 Ford Escape Bernardo was driving; damage to the sign post was estimated at $250.

The crash took place shortly after 7:00 a.m. Saturday.
