Updated Numbers Are In From Test Iowa Clinic Site In Spirit Lake; Clinic To Remain Here Until Atleast Thursday (July 2nd)
(Spirit Lake)-- We have updated numbers from the Test Iowa Clinic that continues to be in operation at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds in Spirit Lake. Jennifer Gustafson of Lakes Regional Healthcare says nearly 900 people have been tested there since the site opened Monday...
"The first four days, Monday through Thursday, we tested 815 people and so far today we've tested a few more so it's a grand total at this point of 850 people. Out of those we have processed, 529 of 850 tests have been processed. Out of those 529, 28 people have been positive so far which is a 5.3 percent positive rate. We're not sure though how many people are from Dickinson county. We don't know what county those 28 positives are from."
Gustafson adds they just found out the local Test Iowa Clinic will remain here into next week...
"We have just found out that we are going to be having it here all next week except for Friday. Friday is going to be like a holiday, so we'll be open from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday next week. And after that we are planning, here at Lakes Regional Healthcare, we're planning on doing it, we have staffing to do it, through July 10th but we're still waiting to see if the state agrees to that. It's all based on the numbers of people that come through, so hopefully we can do it the week after but we still have to see."
Gustafson again highly encourages everyone to take advantage of the opportunity for the free testing. The process is very simple and just takes a few minutes. You do need to complete an online assessment first at Test Iowa-dot-com.
