Two Vehicle Collision Injures Sibley Woman
Wed 3-23-2016
(Sibley)-- A single vehicle late Monday afternoon in O’Brien county injured a Sibley woman. The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Jill Wasmund lost control of a northbound 2011 Mitsubishi on Highway 60 when she lost control while sending a text.
Deputies say Wasmund failed to see that a vehicle in front of her, which was also northbound, had slowed to make a right-hand turn. The impact caused Wasmund’s vehicle to go into the east ditch, coming to rest on a large cement culvert.
Minor injuries were reported to Wasmund, who was taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Sheldon. No injuries were reported to the driver of the other vehicle.
The collision took place shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Wasmund was cited for following too closely.
