Two People Charged In A Dickinson County Sex Abuse Case Plead Guilty To Lesser Charges
(Spirit Lake)-- Two people accused of sexually abusing a teen in February, 2020 in Milford have pleaded guilty to lesser charges as part of a plea deal.
22-year-old Jack Hess and 36-year-old Amanda Cox, both of Spencer, were originally charged with sexual abuse in the 2nd and 3rd degree and child endangerment. Online court documents show Hess pleaded guilty to assault with intent to commit sexual abuse...an aggravated misdemeanor; and Cox pleaded guilty child endangerment...also an aggravated misdemeanor.
Both received suspended jail terms and will serve two years of probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections. Hess was also ordered to undergo a sexual offender evaluation.
