Two Men Charged With Attempted Murder Plead Guilty To Lesser Charges
(Emmetsburg)-- Two men… arrested last November after the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of shots fired… have been sentenced.
A report was received of shots fired at a vehicle about four miles south of Emmetsburg. Christian Eberle of Albert City reported the car was following him and fired numerous rounds into his vehicle. Eberle reported one of the bullets that was fired had struck him. Eberle provided a description of the vehicle, which was then stopped by the Spencer Police Department a short time later.
Eighteen-year-old Konner Mills of Ayrshire and 18-year-old Garret Wasson of Spencer were both charged with attempted murder, a class “B” felony… and going armed with intent, a class “D” felony.
Mills and Wassom both pleaded guilty to intimidation with a dangerous weapon, a class “D” felony. Wassom also pleaded guilty to going armed with intent. They both received a suspended ten-year sentence and were placed on probation for five years. They were ordered to submit a DNA sample and sentenced to a residential facility.
Mills was ordered to pay 350-dollars in court costs and surcharges… Wassom was ordered to pay 445-dollars in court costs and surcharges.
