Two men arrested on multiple charges in Emmet County following traffic stop

(Wallingford)-Two men were arrested on multiple charges in Emmet County as a result of a traffic stop last Thursday morning.

According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, a deputy sheriff initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at about 1:30 am 3  miles west of Wallingford on 230th Street in rural Emmet County.

Upon investigation, deputies discovered cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana and a loaded .40 caliber hand gun.

The driver of the vehicle, 22 year old Brody Metzger of Wallingford was arrested and charged with OWI and a number of drug related charges.  A passenger in the vehicle, 37 year old Demetrius Wright of Estherville was charged with a number of drug related charges as well as with carrying weapons and possession of a firearm as a felon.

Both men were booked into the Emmet County Jail.

Wright remains in custody on a $5000 cash or surety bond and Metzger was released upon posting surety bond.

The Emmet County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Estherville Police Department and K-9 Max.

An investigation is continuing.
