Two Men Accused Of Assaulting Emmet County Sheriff's Deputy
(Estherville)-- Two men face charges for allegedly assaulting a Sheriff's Deputy in Emmet county.
The Emmet County Sheriff's Office says 21-year-old Alex Molacek of Estherville was arrested on a warrant January 3rd charging him in connection with an incident back on October 20th of last year when deputies responded to a request for assistance from the Estherville Police Department. During that incident, authorities say a deputy was allegedly assaulted by 41-year-old Kenneth Molacek. While the deputy was making the arrest, authorities say he was struck from behind by 21-year-old Alex Molacek.
Following the incident both suspects were taken into custody and booked into jail. Alex Molacek was originally charged with assault on persons in certain occupations and interference with official acts resulting in bodily injury. Authorities say an additional charge of willful injury has since been filed.
Kenneth Molacek was charged with assault on persons in certain occupations and public intoxication.
