Two From Ashton Face Charges For Allegedly Growing Pot On Patio

(Ashton)-- An investigation by the Osceola County Sheriff's Office into a complaint of marijuana being grown outside an apartment building in Ashton landed two people in jail on drug charges.
Authorities obtained and executed a search warrant Tuesday evening at 467 4th Avenue in Ashton, apartment #2.
Upon further investigation 37-year-old Rashad Ocasio Bettis and 21-year-old Ashley Marie Castle, were both arrested. Bettis was charged with intent to manufacture marijuana, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, gathering where marijuana is used, possession of a controlled substance-marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Castle was charged with possession of a controlled substance-marijuana, gathering where marijuana is used, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bond for Bettis was set at $5,000 cash or surety; bond for Castle was set at $1,000 cash or surety.
Authorities say the pot plants were being grown in buckets on a patio.
