(Peterson)-- Two northwest Iowa communities are among 10 in the state that have been selected to participate in Iowa's Living Roadways Community Visioning program in 2018. They are Peterson, in Clay county, and Graettinger, in Palo Alto county.

The award-winning program integrates technical landscape planning and design techniques with sustainable community action to assist community leaders and volunteers in making sound and meaningful decisions about the local landscape.

245 Iowa communities have benefited through the program since 1996.

The Community Vision Program is sponsored by the Iowa Department of Transportation along with Iowa State University Architecture Extension and Trees Forever. Professional landscape architects offer expertise in creating conceptual plans for the communities.
