Tues. Brings More Livestock Shows To Dickinson Co. 4-H & FFA Fair
(Spirit Lake)-- It's another full day at the Dickinson County 4-H and FFA Fair going on in Spirit Lake. Hannah Brockshus of ISU Extension and Outreach for Dickinson county tells KUOO news some more livestock shows are on the docket today (Mon.)...
"We've got our sheep show in the morning followed by our goat show. And we do have live entertainment walking around the fairgrounds, that's our "Family Fun", they'll be walking around to entertain families."
The Pork Producers will also be holding their annual dinner from 5:00 until 7:00 this evening, with the pie auction to follow, a fundraiser for the Dickinson County 4-H Youth Foundation.
Tuesday is another big day at the fair...
"Again on Tuesday and every day of the fair the exhibit building is open to see the non-living or what we call static projects. Also on Tuesday we've got our beef buddies in the morning. Those are typically our younger youth and younger beef animals so we've got calves and kids out in the arena for beef buddies. After that we have our 4-H and FFA Beef Show. The Beef Show will go into the afternoon, and later that afternoon we have our pet show followed by the dog show."
And the Farm Chore Olympics get underway tomorrow (Tues.) evening at 7:30 pm...
"One of our largest county clubs, the Milford Pioneers, puts together that event every year and those 4-H members brainstorm different obstacles to put in this relay that represent farm chores. So anybody is welcome to come out and get together a team to compete in the Farm Chore Olympics Relay".
The Dickinson County 4-H and FFA Fair concludes Thursday with the annual pancake and sausage breakfast and livestock sale.
