Trial For SL Man Accused Of Firing A Gun Toward A Neighbor Is Delayed
(Spirit Lake)-- Trial for a Spirit Lake man accused of firing a gun at a neighbor has been pushed back to July 18th, with a pre-trial conference set for July 10th in Dickinson County District Court.
Scott Sidles was charged with attempted murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and willful injury.
His trial was originally scheduled to start May 16th, but Judge Carl Peterson Tuesday approved a request from defense attorney Jack Bjornstad postponing it.
The charges stem from an incident on October 2nd of last year in Spirit Lake in which Sidles is accused of shooting a .22 caliber pistol from his driveway that accesses Lake Drive. A bullet believed to be from that gun struck a neighbor in the leg, while she was sitting on a chair on her patio.
