Traffic Stop Results in Search & Drug Charges

(Rock Rapids)-- A weekend traffic stop in Lyon county resulted in the arrest of a Rock Rapids woman on drug charges.
The Sheriff's Office says it happened shortly after 4:00 pm Sunday when a deputy pulled over a vehicle on Highway 9 at the junction with Highway 75 a mile west of Rock Rapids.
Upon investigating, it was discovered the driver, 29-year-old Stacey Myhrum of Rock Rapids, was allegedly driving with a suspended license.
Further investigation revealed Myhrum was in possession of drug paraphernalia and what's alleged to be a controlled substance. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, failure to file SR-22 Insurance, and excessive speed.
Myhrum was booked into the Lyon county jail.
The Lyon County Drug Recognition Expert assisted in the investigation.
