Traffic Stop Near Vick's Corner Results In Arrests
(Spirit Lake)-- A traffic stop this past Friday morning at Vick's Corner resulted in several drug-related arrests.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office says it happened around 9:23 am when a deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding. Upon approaching the vehicle the deputy reported smelling marijuana coming from it.
Further investigation determined that marijuana was allegedly present in the vehicle.
The driver was cited in juvenile court and released to parents. Two passengers, 21-year-old Christian Derby and 20-year-old Keenan Sorgdrager of Sioux Falls, were charged with possession of a controlled substance and were booked into the Dickinson county jail.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.
