(Spencer)-- A traffic stop this past Saturday night in Clay county landed a man in jail on drug and other charges. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Marquis Williams of Sheldon around 11:30 p.m. Authorities say a check of his license revealed Williams was wanted on four arrest warrants out of O’Brien county. He was taken into custody and a subsequent search of his person turned up what’s alleged to be marijuana. Authorities say a search of Williams’ vehicle turned up an additional 45 grams of marijuana.
Williams was booked into the Clay county jail on charges of failure to affix a drug tax stamp, possession of a controlled substance...marijuana; operation without registration, and no insurance. Bond was set at $5,000 on those charges, while the bond for the O’Brien county charges was set at $10,000.
