Chief Deputy Williamson and the driver of the other vehicle both died in the collision. The other deputy was seriously injured.
Chief Deputy Williamson was a veteran of the Korean War and had served with the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office for five years. Prior to that he served with the Spencer Police Department for two years.
