Today (Mon.) Is Day Three Of The Clay County Fair

(Spencer)-- It's day three of the Clay County Fair. Today (Mon.) is Veteran's Appreciation Day, with free admission for all veterans. A veteran's day parade gets underway at 10:00 am with an appreciation program at 11:00 am this (Mon.) morning in the Events Center Ballroom.

Today's (Mon.) featured events include the open class sheep show; the 4-H and FFA District Market Beef Show; the $1,500 Cinnamon Roll Contest at 1:00 pm at the Creative Living Center; and this (Mon.) evening's grandstand entertainment features Black Hawk with special guest The Bellamy Brothers.

Some free entertainment today (Mon.) includes the Awesome Ag Magic Show at 10:00 am, 12 Noon and 2:00 pm. Some environmental programs are also on the docket. “How to Tame the Trash Monster” gets underway at 11:00 am at the Art Barn; and “Reusa-Palooza is going from Noon until 5:00 pm, also at the Art Barn.

Other free entertainment acts today (Mon.) include the Flyin' Hawaiian Show; comedian C. Willie Myles; Pork Chop Revue; Pogo Fred; Thistle and Lace, an acoustic group; The Britins, a Beatles tribute band; and strongman Mighty Mike. Today's (Mon.) strolling acts include Hillbilly Bob and Rock-it The Robot.

The Clay County Fair continues through Sunday.
