Time Is Starting To Wind Down For Estherville Residents Wishing To Shoot Off Fireworks This 4th Of July
(Estherville)-- Time is starting to run out for any Estherville resident wanting to shoot off fireworks this 4th of July.
A city ordinance requires anyone in the city wishing to shoot off fireworks have a permit first. Applications are available at the Estherville City Offices. City officials say the forms must be completed and returned to them no later than June 16th. The Estherville City Council will consider the applications at their meeting Monday, June 21st. That will be the council's last meeting prior to July 4th. City officials say no applications will be accepted after June 16th.
City Code Enforcement Officer Greg Van Langen says anyone shooting fireworks within Estherville city limits without a permit will be in violation of the city's ordinance and could face legal consequences as a result.
