Three Area Departments Battle House Fire East Of Spirit Lake
(Spirit Lake)-- Three area fire departments battled a house fire this (Fri.) morning east of Spirit Lake. Chris Hoerichs of the Spirit Lake Fire Department says no injuries were reported...
"Spirit Lake fire was called to 15272 250th Ave for a report of a structure fire with occupants still in the house. The occupant was safely escorted out of the house by a neighboring relative until we arrived. When crews arrived on the scene they found a significant fire on the A side or the front of the house. Mutual aid was called from APO and Superior Fire due to the size of the fire and that area isn't covered by hydrants. Crews quickly knocked down the fire and made entry to prevent extension into the house."
Hoerichs says the fire damage was contained to the exterior with some smoke and water damage to the interior.
Hoerichs says the cause of the fire is under investigation but he says they believe it may have been electrical in nature.
Firefighters were on the scene nearly two hours. They were assisted by Dickinson County Emergency Management, the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office and Lakes Regional Healthcare ambulance and paramedics who stood by as a precaution.
