SW Minn. Crash Claims Life Of Colorado Woman
(Windom, Mn.)-- A Colorado woman was killed in a car-semi accident Friday morning in Cottonwood County.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports that shortly after 11am, 24 year-old Amanda Walker of Longmont, CO was driving a 2006 Ford Expedition westbound on Highway 30, near mile post 82, when she crossed the center line and hit a 2006 Western Star Semi, driven by 48 year-old Todd Scotting of Chandler,MN head on.
Walker was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. Scotting was transported to a Windom Hospital with unspecified injuries.
Highway 30 was closed for a portion of the day yesterday to allow rescue crews safe access to the scene.
The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office, Mountain Lake Ambulance, Comfrey Fire Department and MnDOT crews assisted at the scene.
