Suspicious Person Investigation Results In Arrest Of Man On OWI & Weapons Charges
(Spencer)-- An investigation Saturday evening by Clay county authorities into a report of a suspicious person resulted in the arrest of a Hartley man.
The Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to the intersection of Clay County Roads M27 and B24 shortly before 8:00 pm after getting a report of a man in that area who was said to be walking around and disoriented.
Upon arriving deputies located the man, identified as Jason Hollander of Hartley. Upon investigating it was determined Hollander was allegedly under the influence of a narcotic. A drug recognition expert was called in through the Iowa State Patrol and an evaluation was performed.
Authorities also discovered Hollander was carrying a 9 millimeter handgun, and that he had a second loaded gun in his vehicle.
Hollander was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated...2nd offense, and carrying weapons. He was booked into the Clay county jail.
The incident took place shortly before 8:00 pm Saturday.
