Suspects In A Convenience Store Robbery Earlier This Year In Spencer Turn Themselves In
(Spencer)-- Two suspects in a robbery on February 14th of this year at the Casey's General Store at 800 Grand Avenue in Spencer have turned themselves in.
Spencer police say 31-year-old Coty Wolthuis and 40-year-old Jason Archer, both of Spencer, turned themselves in around 1:00 pm today (Wed.).
Police Chief Mark Warburton says the arrests stem from a nearly eight month investigation in which police allege Wolthuis, a store employee, acted with Archer to stage the robbery.
Wolthuis was charged with theft in the 2nd degree, conspiracy to commit a felony and false reports.
Archer was charged with theft in the 2nd degree, burglary in the 3rd degree and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Spencer police were assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
