Suspect Arrested In Estherville Assault Investigation
(Estherville)-- A St. Paul, Minnesota man has been arrested in connection with an assault investigation in Estherville.
Estherville police say they received a report Tuesday of an assault that had taken place in that city around 8:30 am. Upon investigating officers learned the suspect was 34-year-old Jermaine Fleming. After the assault, police say Fleming allegedly took the victim's car and phone and left. Police say the female victim came to the Police Department a short time later and filed a complaint. She then went to Avera Holy Family Hospital for treatment of injuries received in the incident.
Police obtained warrants for Fleming's arrest, charging him with domestic abuse assault, willful injury, theft in the 2nd degree and theft in the 4th degree.
Around 8:30 am Wednesday, Estherville police located the stolen vehicle in the 500 block of West 5th Avenue North in Estherville. Police located Fleming in a nearby residence and he was taken into custody without incident. Fleming was booked into jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.
