(Primghar)-- A surveillance operation set up October 10th after an O'Brien county sheriff's deputy located a vehicle that he knew was associated with two subjects that had active warrants resulted in their arrests on multiple charges.

Authorities say one of them, 24-year-old Bradley Kots of Sutherland, was arrested in the vehicle on an outstanding warrant from Cherokee county for theft in the 1st degree and operating without the owner's consent in connection with theft of a vehicle.

33-year-old Ashley Call of Spencer was arrested in a nearby motel room on outstanding warrants from Clay county for probation violations.

The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office then obtained and executed search warrants on the room and vehicle. The search of the motel room turned up more than 32 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash. The search of the vehicle turned up drug paraphernalia and some clothing.

Authorities say depending upon the outcome of an ongoing investigation, additional charges may be filed against Kots in connection with the thefts of some other vehicles in the region.

The Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force, Osceola County Sheriff's Office and the Iowa State Patrol assisted in the surveillance operation and searches.
