Surging COVID-19 Cases Has One Area School District Transitioning Some Grade Levels To Hybrid Learning
(Emmetsburg)-- Increasing COVID-19 cases has one area school district transitioning some of its grade levels to a hybrid learning model beginning this coming Monday, November 16th and continuing through the end of the month.
In a letter to patrons, Emmetsburg Community Schools Superintendent Darren Hanna says the transition will affect grades 5-12 with all pre-K through 4th grade students continuing in person learning full time.
Hanna says the move is being made after consulting with public health officials in Palo Alto county.
As of Wednesday, the Emmetsburg Community School District had over 100 students and staff in quarantine or isolation. The positivity rate in Palo Alto county is just over 17 percent.
There will be no school in the Emmetsburg district Friday (Nov. 13).
