State FFA Convention This Week In Ames Is A Special One For Two GT-RA Members
(Ames)-- The state FFA convention is getting underway today (Mon.) in Ames and will run through the week. It marks a very special time for Cole Reiman of the Graettinger-Terril Ruthven-Ayrshire FFA chapter. Reiman is the outgoing Northwest District Vice President for the state of Iowa. He says the experience was one of a lifetime and he's looking forward to what's next for him...
"I've contemplated moving forward with helping the organization out really anywhere I can. I know that this organization really helps people find their passions, whether they be in agriculture or whether they just happen to be involved with leadership itself and so my passion is going to continue to be following the organization and through that I hope to become an ag teacher in my future to continue to inspire future generations with these leaderships skills and the passion we try to push for."
It's also a special time for Noel Bockman, another member of the Graettinger-Terril Ruthven-Ayrshire FFA chapter, who's seeking the position of Northwest Iowa District Vice President...
"So right now there are two applicants from the district as well as myself and we are all vying for that spot to be on the ballot, so once we find out if we're on the ballot, we present a speech to the delegate body of the Northwest District and we answer two questions as well and then they vote on it and we find out Tuesday night who's elected."
Stay tuned to KUOO through the upcoming days as we'll be airing interviews with area FFA students attending the state convention.
