Spirit Lake High Students to hold Comedy Night Fundraiser for trip to Haiti

Some Spirit Lake High School Students are holding a Comedy Night Fundraiser to help with the costs of their J-Term project, a trip to Haiti.

Health and PE Instructor Tim O'Hagan explains.  "About 8 years ago, our school kind of adopted one of the college models where, in between semesters, they'd have 3 weeks where students got a chance to select courses of their choice and kind of seek out their passion.  A few years ago, the Norris family started taking trips to Haiti, and so then last year a group of students, they coincided the time of that so Spirit Lake students could go during their J-Term, and so we have a few returnees, and then a few rookies that are going this year."

Student Faith Norris says the fundraiser will feature an improv comedy group.  "The Black V is an improv team from Northwestern College, and they're going to be coming and doing an improv comedy show, and we'll have a free espresso coffee bar, and then also desserts for $1 a piece.  It's $8 for adults and $5 for students."

The Improv Comedy Night will be held Friday evening, November 17 at the Sami Center in Spirit Lake.
