Spirit Lake Chamber to hold Snow Drop during U of O Winter Games on January 30

The Spirit Lake Chamber of Commerce will hold the annual Snow Ball Drop during the University of Okoboji Winter Games.

Nancy Vierkant, Director of Membership and Events explains how it works.  "Our Snow Ball Drop will be on Saturday, January 30th, and it's held at 10 a.m.  It will be at the intersection of Lake Street and Hill Avenue in Downtown Spirit Lake.  It's always a fun, well attended event.  We drop 2,021 snowballs, and there are a number of correlations to prizes that we hand out."

She adds that the Chamber is currently looking for sponsorships and prizes.  "Some of the prizes that we give out include $100 in Chamber Bucks which we get covered by our sponsorships so, Chamber Members can become sponsors of the event to help cover all of those things, and if they're interested, we'd love to talk to them about that.  We also do look for lots of prizes.  Last year we gave over 400 prizes, and we'd love to make it bigger and better, of course, every year.  So, we would love to find if there's other people that would like to donate prizes for the Snow Ball Drop.  We can hand those out for you or we can have them pick them up at your business as well if you'd like that increased foot traffic.  So, if you're interested in donating prizes to help us get to that big lofty goal of over 400 prizes this year and make it bigger and better than ever, we'd love to chat with you."
