Spencer Public Meeting About Revised Flood Maps December 11th
Mon 12-2-2019 300 W 4th Street Spencer,IA
The City of Spencer will be holding an informational meeting on December 11th about the revised flood plain maps in the Clay County Administration Building. Planning Director Steve Hallgren has the rundown.
“So the city of Spencer and Clay County is undergoing a map update through the Federal Emergency Management Agency FEMA and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources is facilitating this public meeting. So with the updated FEMA floodplain map its specifically the national flood insurance program map is the map that's being updated. There's several properties within the city limits of Spencer and also in Clay County that may be impacted by having their boundaries changed according to the updated flood map so there's some properties that maybe removed from the flood plain that otherwise were previously in or vice versa that have not been in a floodplain that are now in a floodplain so this public meeting coming up is a great opportunity for interested citizens to participate and find out additional information about how their property may or may not be impacted by these revised and updated flood maps. The meeting is being held on Wednesday December 11th from 5 to 7 p.m. and it's in the supervisors room at the Clay County Administration Building, it's at 300 West 4th Street Spencer.”
