Spencer Planning & Zoning Considering Re-Zoning Request For Adult Entertainment Establishment
(Spencer)-- A possible re-zoning to allow for an adult entertainment establishment in Spencer was a topic of discussion this (Wed.) morning at a meeting of the city's Planning and Zoning Commission.
At issue is a request from Chris Burg, owner of Southside Grill, which is requesting the location of the business be rezoned from it's current classification of C2, which doesn't allow adult entertainment-type businesses.
The commission could either amend existing city code to allow for that type of business or create a new zoning district that would allow it.
The commission stopped short of making a recommendation to the city council at today's meeting, saying they want to further review the options.
It was noted at the meeting the commission has received a number of letters from citizens on the matter. Most of them were in opposition, citing concerns over moral values.
