Spencer Man Arrested On Multiple Drug Charges

(Spencer)-- Authorities have released details into a traffic stop last Saturday that resulted in multiple drug charges being filed against a Spencer man.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle for speeding. Upon further investigation it was discovered the driver, 56-year-old Earl Halbur, had a barred driver's license. Deputies also located marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Authorities then obtained and executed a search warrant resulting in them finding drug paraphernalia, marijuana, several scheduled drugs, numerous prescription pills and 26.7 grams of what was believed to be methamphetamine.

Halbur was arrested and charged with speeding, driving while barred, driving under suspension and failure to file S.R. Insurance. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, along with numerous charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a prescription drug and a drug tax stamp violation.

Halbur was booked into the Clay county jail on a $32,000 cash or surety bond.
