(Spencer)-- The Spencer Hospital Foundation's endowment campaign has surpassed its $2 million fundraising goal. John Rahn, campaign co-chair, says they've raised more than $2.5 million in contributions, gifts, pledges and planned gifts. He says they received more than 350 donations.
Even though the initial goal has been met, officials say they plan to grow the foundation's endowment fund to meet the ongoing need to invest in local healthcare.
Mindy Gress, Foundation Executive Director, says the foundation has conducted only one other major fundraising campaign in its history. That was in the mid 1990's when funds were raised to build and equip the Abben Cancer Center.
The Spencer Regional Healthcare Foundation was organized in 1994. It has invested more than $6.5 million to support new healthcare technology and services.
