Spencer Hospital Converting To New Electronic Health Record System
(Spencer)-- Officials with Spencer Hospital say they'll be converting to a new electronic health record system March 1st, which could temporarily result in non-care related service delays.
Spencer Hospital President Bill Bumgarner says they've been preparing for the transition for over a year. He says some patient registration processes could be slower than normal while the switch over is taking place. As a result, he says patients are encouraged to arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time.
Hospital officials say the new system will be compatible with that of Avera, making it more efficient, especially for patients seeking local family medicine services and higher levels of care not offered in Spencer.
Northwest Iowa Ear, Nose and Throat all also be converting to the new system March 1st.
