Spencer City Council Approves Proposal Allowing Usage Of Some Electric Powered Devices On Trails
(Spencer)-- The Spencer City Council Monday evening approved a proposal that will make it legal to use certain electric powered devices on the city's recreational trails. It includes things such as electronically assisted bicycles. Segways, hover boards and ATV's are still prohibited.
The new rule also implements a 20 mph speed limit for the devices that ARE allowed, and sets a size limit on motors.
It goes into effect this coming July 1st.
The new rule was recommended for approval by the city's Parks and Recreation Department, the Park Board, and the Parks, Rec. and Culture Committee.
