Spencer City Council Approves Agreement With Spencer Community Schools; Approves Sale Of Former Railroad Right-Of-Way
(Spencer)-- The Spencer City Council Monday evening approved an agreement with the Spencer Community School District allowing the district to use the upper level of City Hall for the district's “No Boundaries” program. Will Dible oversees the program for the Spencer Community Schools. He told the council it's important for the students in that program to have a place outside of the school environment in which to work on their projects. The council voted unanimously to approve the rental agreement with the school.
In other business, the Spencer City Council also approved the sale of former railroad right-of-way adjacent to Highway 71 on the city's north side to the Iowa Department of Transportation. The action followed a public hearing that drew no opposition.
