SL Council Gives Final Approval To Zoning Ordinance Change Expanding List Of Certain Construction Products Allowed For Use In The City
(Spirit Lake)-- The Spirit Lake City Council this week gave final adoption to a change in the city's zoning ordinance that expands the list of materials that are eligible to be used in construction projects. City Attorney/Administrator Gregg Owens says it reflects some new materials that are now on the market and have a proven quality of standards...
"We wanted to make sure that we're keeping the zoning ordinance up to date with changes as new materials come on the scene that responsible builders can use when they're building, so. Those are products that have come under high demand and they used to not be allowed under the zoning ordinance back in the day when those products weren't very reliable and so those things have changed and so those particular engineered wood products that people use for siding in certain areas will now be allowed subject to review by the Zoning Administrator."
Owens says the expanded list of eligible products will give contractors, homowners and others, more options.
