Single Vehicle Crash Results In Minor Injury

(Spencer)-- A single vehicle crash yesterday (Fri.) in Clay county resulted in minor injuries.

The Sheriff's Office says a 16-year-old juvenile male from Spencer was driving a 2007 Chevrolet westbound on 420th Street when he swerved to avoid hitting a pheasant. He then lost control on some loose gravel. The vehicle went onto the shoulder. Authorities say the driver tried pull the vehicle back onto the road when it slid sideways, coming to rest on its wheel in the south ditch.

An 11-year-old male passenger sustained a minor injury but wasn't taken to the hospital.

The crash took place shortly after noon.
