Single Vehicle Crash Injures Two

Tue 11-22-2016 []

(Primghar)-- O'Brien county authorities have released details into a single vehicle crash earlier this month that sent two people to the hospital.

The Sheriff's Office says 31-year-old Matthew Freeman of Marcus was driving a 2010 Kia southbound on a county road when he lost control. The vehicle went into the east ditch where it struck a lane embankment, coming to rest in the middle of the lane.

Two passengers, 24-year-old Dillon Leach of Marcus and 29-year-old Shawn Hand of Cherokee, were taken to separate hospitals with serious injuries: Leach was transported to the Orange City hospital and Hand was taken to the LeMars hospital.

The vehicle was totaled.

Freeman was cited for no proof of insurance, failure to maintain control, open container...driver and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
