Sheldon Voters Head To The Polls Today (Tues. June 8th) To Fill Vacant City Council Seat

Tue 6-8-2021

(Sheldon)-- Voters in Sheldon head to the polls today (Tues.) for a special election to fill a vacancy for the Ward 2 city council seat. The vacancy was created by the resignation of councilman Shawn Broesder.

Three people are running for the position, including Sandra Johnson, Madeline Kopel and Ken Snyder.

Polls opened at 7:00 am and will close at 8:00 pm. Voting is taking place at the Crossroads Pavilion in Sheldon. Only those living in Sheldon's second ward are eligible to vote in the election.

The winner will serve what's remaining of Broesder's term, which expires at the end of the year and would need to run again in the November election for a full term.
