(Emmetsburg)-- A considerable amount of property damage was reported when a semi overturned Tuesday evening in Palo Alto county.

Authorities say 52-year-old Troy Hanson of Leland, Iowa was driving a 2007 Peterbilt pulling a feed trailer westbound on a county road and was attempting to turn when the trailer dropped off the roadway and went into ditch filled with compacted snow. Deputies say the semi trailer was loaded with hog feed and that the weight shifted causing the semi tractor and trailer to overturn onto the passenger side. A road sign was also damaged.

Hanson was checked over on the scene by medical personnel.

Damage to the semi tractor and trailer was estimated at $20,000; the sign sustained an estimated $150 in damage.
