(Estherville)-- A Ringsted man wanted in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle was taken into custody earlier this month.

The Emmet County Sheriff's Office says around 9:30 pm October 5th a deputy investigated a suspicious vehicle that was parked on a minimum maintenance road north of Armstrong. Upon making contact with the occupants it was discovered one of them, 31-year-old Jesse Martin of Ringsted, was wanted on warrants for theft in the 2nd degree, trespassing, open container of alcohol on a roadway and failure to have control of a motor vehicle.

Authorities say the charges stem from an investigation into a traffic accident and theft of a motor vehicle from a farm north of Dolliver on June 17th of this year.

Martin was booked into the Emmet county jail and has since been released after posting an unsecured $3,900 bond.
