(Spencer)-- RIDES announced today (Fri.) they will be resuming normal operations in the Iowa Great Lakes beginning Monday (Aug. 3rd). That word from Cindy Voss, Director of Operations...Cindy Voss01

"We're going to be running our service just a little bit reduced to start with until we build back up. But the exciting news for everyone is that all of our trips will be free until further notice."

She says trip reservations are still required in advance...Cindy Voss02

"We do ask that 24 hour reservation notice is still in place. As always, medical trips will be done same day as long as we have space available, but they can call us at 1-800-358-5037 and press one to speak to dispatch and our hours for calling and reserving trips right now is from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm Monday through Friday."

Voss adds the proper health precautions will be in place on the buses...Cindy Voss03

"We're asking, respectfully asking I guess is the way I will word it, that people wear masks on the bus. If they don't have one we will provide one for them. We do have barriers in place in the buses to protect the passengers and the drivers. We do have sanitation in place on the bus, hand sanitizers, drivers will be wearing a mask and a face shield when they secure a passenger just to ensure the safest trip possible."

Voss thanks RIDES patrons for their patience and expressed their gratitude to the drivers during this difficult time.
