Registration underway for Prairie Lakes Conference to be held August 9-10
(Okoboji)-Registration is underway for the upcoming Prairie Lakes Conference, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
The Prairie Lakes Conference will be held August 9 and 10 at Arrowwood Resort in Okoboji.
Dr. Mary Skopec, Executive Director of Iowa Lakeside Laboratory says the Conference will focus on water quality issues. "So, the Prairie Lakes Conference is an effort to increase education about lakes and lake water quality, and what we can do to protect and enhance the lakes, and it's really meant to look at Northwest Iowa resources, so we're trying to draw professionals and citizens from around the area to come and learn about the latest research and the latest techniques in protecting the lakes up here in Okoboji"
She adds that pre-registration is suggested. "We want to know how many people to plan for lunch both on Thursday and Friday, and then it also gives us a sense of how many people we need to accommodate for chairs and that kind of thing. So, we really would appreciate it if people would pre-register so we've got those numbers."
