Pursuit In Clay & O'Brien Counties Results In Arrests Of Two People
(Primghar)-- A pursuit Wednesday evening through portions of Clay and O'Brien counties resulted in the arrests of two people from Spencer.
The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office says it started shortly after 9:30 pm when a deputy attempted to pull over a vehicle near the intersection of 360th Street and White Avenue in O'Brien county. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued with speeds reaching 91 mph at times. It ended when the suspect vehicle crashed in the 3700 mile of 110th Street.
The driver, 33-year-old Madison Selzer was arrested and charged with theft in the 2nd degree, possession of a controlled substance...methamphetamine...3rd offense, eluding, possession of marijuana, driving while barred, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, failure to yield half of the roadway and driving while suspended.
A search warrant of the vehicle was obtained and executed, resulting in a passenger, Joseph Peterson, being arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance...methamphetamine...3rd offense, possession of a controlled substance...marijuana...3rd offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Authorities say the vehicle had been reported stolen out of California and that the license plate on the rear of it had also been stolen out of California off of a different vehicle.
