Project To Connect Trail Systems In Clay & Dickinson Counties Awarded Funding
(Ames)-- A local trail project has been awarded funding through the federal Recreational Trails Program.
The Iowa Transportation Commission today (Wed.) approved $285,690 in funding through that program for the first phase of a project connecting the Clay county trail system with Dickinson county's.
It was one of seven projects awarded funding.
The federal Recreational Trails Program was created in 1991 for the purpose of developing and maintaining recreational trails and trail-related facilities.
