Private Pesticide Recertification Trainings Canceled Until Further Notice
(Primghar)-- Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has announed the private pesticide applicator recertification trainings for northwest Iowa have been canceled until further notice. It includes sessions scheduled for April 6th in Sibley, April 7th in Sheldon and April 8th in George.
Field Agronomist Joel DeJong says Iowa who were certified through December 31st, 2019 can retain their status and now have until December 31st, 2020 to submit the testing or training required to renew a pesticide applicator certification.
He adds that if your license expired the end of 2019, it is now valid through 2020. However, he says you will still have to attend a session to get credit for this years. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship has announced that those have to completed before September 30th.
DeJong says many county offices will be offering a change to view a video to complete the requirements in their office, by appointment, after the offices reopen in coming months.
He says the situation is still uncertain and says there could be more changes over time.
