PRCA Rodeo To Be Featured At 2018 Clay County Fair

Mon 8-13-2018

(Spencer)-- The PRCA Rodeo is returning to this year's Clay County Fair. Clay County Fair General Manager Jeremy Parsons says a last minute change in the PRCA's scheduling allowed the attraction to come to this year's fair. The PRCA Rodeo, presented by Barnes Rodeo Company, will be held Sunday, September 9th at 6:30 pm. The rodeo will replace the previously announced Clay County Fair Bull Riding Challenge.

A variety of 4-H and FFA horse shows will also be featured again this year.

Other highlights will include the North American Cart and Six-Horse Hitches Saturday and Sunday, September 15th and 16th; NBHA barrel racing at 6:00 pm Saturday, September 8th; and Cowboy Mounted Shooting on Friday, September 14th at 6:30 pm. The event consists of an obstacle course in which riders and horses go through as quickly as possible while shooting at balloons placed on top of stakes.

Another popular event, team roping, will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 14th, and the Rach Rodeo on the final day of the fair, September 16th.
