Plea Deal Reached In Case Involving A Man Accused Of Leading Authorities On A High Speed Chase Last December In Two NW Iowa Counties
(Primghar)-- A plea deal has been reached in a case involving a Sutherland man who was the subject of a high speed pursuit involving a stolen vehicle that went through portions of Osceola and O'Brien counties in December of last year. The suspect, Bradley Kots, had originally been charged with two felonies in connection with the incident. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamine. Authorities say Kots was also a suspect in the theft of vehicles from several northwest Iowa counties.
Seven felony counts had been filed against Kots along with four misdemeanor charges. As part of the deal, Kots pled guilty to 3rd degree theft, reduced from the original charge of 2nd degree theft. Six other felony charges and the misdemeanors were dropped in exchange.
Kots was sentenced to 364 days in jail with 154 days suspended. He'll be given credit for time served and was placed on probation for two years.
