Plans To Improve Water Quality In Silver Lake To Be Presented At November 14th Meeting In Lake Park
(Lake Park)-- A public informational meeting regarding plans to improve water quality and recreational opportunities at Silver Lake will be held next week in Lake Park.
Results of a study over the past year involving members of the Silver Lake Steering Committee, Technical Advisory Committee and a consulting team with Wenck Engineering will be presented at the November 14th meeting. Community members will also have an opportunity to provide input and ask questions about the long term management and improvement plan.
Silver Lake was added to the state's list of impaired waters in 2002 due to high nutrient levels, non-algal turbidity and high levels of algae. Officials say the overall goal of their efforts is to get Silver Lake removed from the impaired waters list.
The November 14th meeting will begin at 6:00 pm at the Lake Park Community Center.
