Plans Being Finalized For Spencer's Flagfest Celebration June 9th-11th
(Spencer)-- Plans are being finalized for this year's Flagfest celebration in Spencer, June 9th-11th. Becky Fear-Hatting, Program Director for the Spencer Chamber of Commerce, says one of the highlights will be the University of Iowa's mobile museum Friday June 9th at the Spencer Hy-Vee parking lot...
"They'll be there from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. It's free for everybody to walk through. It takes about 20, 25 minutes I'm told to see everything. There's some interactive things for you to do while you're in the mobile home, the museum. They did say that the content would probably be pretty hard for anybody under the 1st grade to understand, they might get bored easily if you're trying to bring two or three little kids through. They're welcome to come, but they just want the parents to realize it might be a little over their heads and they won't enjoy it."
Events Saturday, June 10th include the parade at 11:00 am, food, inflatables and a children's pedal pull all at East Leech Park, along with a cruise in and dance Saturday evening. Events continue on Sunday, June 11th...
"There's going to be a river float. Check-in will be at 10:00, we'll launch everybody at 11:00. You do need to pre-register so we know how many people are coming. Please go to the website, it's spenceriowachamber.org. Click on the Flagfest tab and the registration forms are right there."
Again, you can find a complete list of events and more information at spenceriowachamber.org and by clicking on the Flagfest tab.
