Pickup Vs Semi Collision Sends Woman To The Hospital

(Primghar)-- A collision Monday in O'Brien county involving a pickup and a semi sent one person to the hospital.

The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office says Adriana Pena of Worthington was driving a 2015 Ford pickup northbound on Nettle Avenue. Authorities say she failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with 460th Street and collided with a 2016 Kenworth semi driven by 42-year-old Rick Hollander of Spencer.

Pena sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Orange City hospital. No injuries were reported to Hollander.

Pena was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

Damage to the pickup driven by Pena was estimated at $15,000; the semi sustained an estimated $12,000 in damage.

Authorities say the collision took place shortly before 6:00 pm.
